Hall of Famer Ray Lewis fires up rookie Will Anderson

As part of the NFL Player Association’s 29th annual Rookie Premiere last month, Fanatics had past and present NFL stars record pep-talk type videos for the 45 draft picks attending the event.

Fanatics released a short video on Thursday about the rookies hearing their messages. The video carries a preface that reads: “We wanted them to hear from the one person they’ve been watching their whole lives.”

In the video, four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers tells this year’s No. 1 draft choice Bryce Young: “I really enjoy the way you carry yourself, man. You’re going to learn that’s really, really important in this league.”

Other NFL stars appearing in the video include Davante Adams, Tom Brady, Odell Beckham Jr., Eric Dickerson, A.J. Green, Rob Gronkowski, Calvin Johnson, George Kittle, Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Adrian Peterson, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, Steve Smith and LaDainian Tomlinson.

In addition to the messages, each rookie also received a jersey for his new team inscribed with a message from one of the legends.

Former Auburn running back Tank Bigsby was so pleased with his Jacksonville Jaguars jersey from Jerry Rice, he said: “I might go to sleep in this tonight, bro.”

And former Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. got so excited about his Houston Texans jersey from Ray Lewis, he went through the well-known move used by the Pro Football Hall of Fame member when introduced before Baltimore Ravens’ games.

Like Anderson, Young also entered the NFL from Alabama.

Rookie Premiere is the union’s annual orientation for the league’s “marketable new stars” that features seminars on financial planning and brand building and connects the players with NFLPA business partners that will help them “develop their personal brands and careers off the field.”
