Which TV channel is the Belmont Stakes on?
The third race of the 2023 Triple Crown season won’t have any Triple Crown drama, but that doesn’t mean FOX won’t get a dramatic race to televise on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s Belmont Stakes will feature a field of nine 3-year-olds. None can win the Triple Crown, but National Treasure could add the Belmont Stakes to his victory in the Preakness Stakes.
The most recent horse to win the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes without winning the Kentucky Derby, too, was Afleet Alex in 2005.
Afleet Alex finished third in the 2005 Kentucky Derby. National Treasure did not compete in Kentucky Derby on May 6, when Mage won the Run for the Roses. After finishing third in the Preakness Stakes on May 20, Mage is not in the Belmont Stakes field.
The 155th Belmont Stakes has a post time of 6:02 p.m. CDT Saturday at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York
FOX’s coverage starts at 3 p.m. Saturday.
NBC affiliates in Alabama include WBRC in Birmingham, WZDX in Huntsville, WALA in Mobile, WCOV in Montgomery and WDFX in Ozark.
FOX will be taking a handoff from FS1, which will have coverage from Belmont Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. FS2 will have postrace coverage from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The Belmont Stakes is part of a 13-race card at Belmont Park and one of the nine graded-stakes races on the track’s schedule on Saturday, including the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Stakes, Woody Stephens Stakes, Jaipur Stakes, Metropolitan Handicap and Manhattan Stakes, Grade 2 True North Stakes and Brooklyn Stakes and Grade 3 Power Stakes.
