Biden DOJ ‘corrupt,’ Tuberville says after Trump indictment in classified docs case
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, accused the Department of Justice of putting its thumb on the scale of the 2024 presidential election amid reports Trump has been federally indicted in the classified documents case.
“The same DOJ that labeled parents questioning school boards as ‘domestic terrorists’ are now doing everything in their power to stop @realDonaldTrump from retaking the White House,” Tuberville said, referring to a Republican talking point that has been labeled a false claim by factcheck.org.
“The Biden Administration is the most corrupt in American history,” the senator continued.
Tuberville, who endorsed Trump in 2024 as the former president launched his campaign, was the first elected official from Alabama to issue a public statement defending Trump following reports of the indictment.
The Justice Department has not publicly announced an indictment, but Trump posted a message on his social media website, Truth Social, that he is being charged.
And while the exact charges against the former president have not been made public, ABC News reported Trump is facing at least seven counts in connection with handling classified documents.
Trump is also being prosecuted in New York City over alleged hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.
