Jefferson County deputy arrested on ethics charge, placed on leave

A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on an ethics charge.

Deputy Caleb Joshua Jefferson, 22, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Wednesday night, jail records show.

Jefferson is charged with using his position for personal gain, said Lt. Joni Money. Details of the accusations against him have not been released.

The deputy has been placed on administrative leave.

Jefferson was booked in the jail at 7:59 p.m. and released at 8:26 p.m. after posting $5,000 bond.
