1 wounded, three apartments shot up in Wednesday night Decatur incident

Decatur police said one person was wounded in a shooting late Wednesday night where shots were fired into three occupied apartments.

According to police, the incident happened at about 11:55 p.m. The Morgan County 911 Center received multiple reports of shots fired near McDonald Court S.W.

While Decatur police were en route to the scene, dispatch received a call from a woman who reported having been shot while inside her home on Wimberly Drive S.W.

The woman was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital to receive treatment, and later transferred to UAB. She remains in stable condition, according to police.

Investigators recovered multiple shell casings at the scene, where three occupied apartments and two vehicles were struck.

No arrests have been made at this time.
