A 28-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of another man in Montgomery on Memorial Day.

Juqwarn Hartwell, of Montgomery, is charged with murder in the Monday slaying of 22-year-old Rondarius McQueen.

Police were notified about 3:15 a.m. Monday that a gunshot victim showed up at the hospital, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

McQueen was pronounced dead a short time later.

Coleman said investigators determined the shooting happened on Folmar Parkway. No other details have been released by police.

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers earlier this week released store surveillance photo of the suspect, now identified as Hartwell.

Hartwell is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
