A 75-year-old man is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $500,000 bond after being charged with sexual abuse of a child.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Curtis Harvell Sr., of Somerville, was arrested Wednesday on a grand jury warrant.

He has been charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

According to the sheriff’s office, the charges stem from an investigation by its criminal investigation division, with assistance by the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center and Morgan County DHR.
