Former Pelham youth sports volunteer coach arrested on new charges of child sex abuse, producing pornography

A volunteer youth coach arrested last week in Pelham on child pornography now faces new charges of sex abuse.

Jamie Paul Hutto, 39, is charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, Pelham police announced Wednesday.

Hutton, who was a volunteer coach in Pelham’s Parks and Recreation Department until his arrest, also faces five counts of production of child pornography.

Police officials said they could not release any information about the victim or victims, which would include if or how Hutto came in contact with the victim or victims.

Last week, he was charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of dissemination of child pornography.

The investigation into Hutto began with a tip to Pelham police from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. That tip was received on May 12.

Authorities said individuals are not allowed to volunteer unless they have gone through a background check, which includes national and state criminal history, which Hutto passed.

Pelham Parks and Recreation coaches are also required to complete a coach safety program annually, which Hutto also completed. That is a program geared toward keeping sports safe.

Hutto remains held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $690,000.
