Huntsville police say one person suffered serious but non-life threatening wounds in an accidental shooting this afternoon.

According to a police spokesperson, officers responded to the 6900 block of Steeplechase Drive around 2:30 p.m.

One person was transported by HEMSI from the scene with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe this was an accidental shooting, where one person accidentally shot another.

No charges are expected.
