2 men killed in fiery crash on Birminghamâs University Boulevard now identified
Authorities have released the names of two men killed in a fiery crash when their vehicle struck a concrete bridge pillar in Birmingham over the weekend.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office Wednesday identified the fatality victims as Brayan Isacc Colindres-Turcios, 24, and Wilmer Jose Padilla, 22. Both lived in Birmingham.
The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of University Boulevard.
Authorities said Colindres-Turcios was driving eastbound on University Boulevard when he crashed into the concrete pillar underneath the Interstate 65 overpass.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service arrived to find the vehicle engulfed in flames.
Both men were pronounced dead on the scene at 3:59 a.m.
Birmingham police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
