Birmingham Water Works Board seeks to reestablish customer trust with #BillBetter
The Birmingham Water Works Board (BWWB) recently announced the launch of their new #BillBetter campaign.
With #BillBetter BWWB is aiming to restore customer trust following the utility’s billing and customer service issues over the last year according to statements made in a press conference this week by BWWB General Manager Michael Johnson.
As part of this campaign, the board has also started making investments towards an eventual system wide switch to automated meters, but Johnson said the process is still in planning stages and might not begin for another one to two years.
Some facets of #BillBetter include transparent and affordable billing that’s easy for customers to understand, faster issue resolution for customers, proactive monitoring of billing systems, and BWWB provided education for customers who want to better understand their bill according to a poster unveiled at the press conference.
BWWB will also be launching its second new bill design since August, with updated bills now to include line by line breakdowns of where each charge is coming from according to Johnson.
