Randolph running back Nic Strong won the Huntsville Player of the Week honors for the second time this season for his play in Week 9 of Alabama high school football play. The Raiders have won the award four times – two apiece for Strong and quarterback Andrew Hunter.

Tarrant’s John Scott was voted the Hollis Wright Birmingham Player of the Week, the first award for a player from the Wildcats’ squad this season. The Coastal Player of the Week is St. Paul’s Drew Williamson, also the first winner from his team on the year.

Strong, a senior for the Raiders, caught seven passes for 183 yards and four touchdowns in a 52-12 win over New Hope last week. He received 18,734 of the 23,831 votes cast in the poll.

Jaylen Mosely of Priceville was second in the balloting.

Scott, playing in this first game of the year after suffering a preseason injury, had four receptions for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns and a TD on a 51-yard punt return. He also had an interception, a forced fumble and three pass break-ups in a 35-30 win over Sumiton Christian. Scott got 3,298 of 5,591 votes cast.

Quarterback John Paul Head of Vestavia Hills finished second in the balloting.

St. Paul’s Williamson rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries, including a 60-yard TD in the Saints’ 22-14 win over Blount. Williamson collected 6,912 of the 18,828 votes in the Coastal poll.

Davidson’s D.J. Butler finished second in the voting.
