Construction nears $24 million for Villas at Old Monrovia in Huntsville

Construction of the Villas at Old Monrovia is nearing $24 million, according to permits pulled by Southern Exposure Information.

Another 11 permits were issued for the project last week, which is the second phase of the Cottages at Old Monrovia. Last week’s permits totaled almost $1.5 million. To date, Cottage Builders Inc. has been issued 201 permits.

In all, 217 building permits were issued in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties during the week totaling more than $43.6 million. Huntsville issued 94 permits totaling more than $17.7 million.

Madison issued 58 permits totaling almost $9 million. Madison County issued 46, topping $11.2 million. Athens issued 11 for almost $3.5 million. Decatur issued eight permits totaling more than $2.1 million.

Larger projects issued permits included alterations to a Walmart Supercenter in Huntsville, and the construction of a Dutch Brothers Coffee in the Owens Cross Roads area.

The buildings issued for the Villas at Old Monrovia on Fullerton Drive and Aldrin Drive ranged from $108,000 in value to $155,218.
