Which TV channel is the 2023 Preakness Stakes on?
Only one of the 18 colts that ran in the Kentucky Derby on May 6 has made the trip from Churchill Downs to Pimlico Race Course for the Preakness Stakes. But because the one is Mage, the Preakness Stakes will decide if the Belmont Stakes on June 10 will be for the Triple Crown.
Mage won the Kentucky Derby and will run in Baltimore as this year’s candidate to accomplish U.S. thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious feat.
Since Justify became the 13th Triple Crown winner in 2018, the Kentucky Derby and Preakness have had different winners annually.
NBC will televise the 148th Preakness Stakes. NBC will have coverage from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. CDT Saturday, picking up the coverage from Old Hilltop that will start at noon on CNBC.
The race lineup at Pimlico on Saturday also includes the Grade 1 1 UAE President Cup and Grade 3 Chick Lang Stakes, Maryland Spring Stakes and Gallorette Stakes.
NBC affiliates in Alabama include WVTM-TV 13 in Birmingham, WRGX-LD 23 in Dothan, WAFF-TV 48 in Huntsville, WPMI-TV 15 in Mobile and WSFA-TV 12 in Montgomery.
