72-year-old inmate serving life sentence dies at William Donaldson Correctional Facility
A 72-year-old inmate died Thursday at William Donaldson Correctional Facility.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Charles Bracewell. He was serving a life sentence for convictions out of Covington County.
Bracewell was found unresponsive in the prison infirmary at 4:48 a.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:06 a.m.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said Bracewell was being treated for multiple significant health issues. The cause of death has not yet been determined but, an autopsy found no evidence of trauma or foul play associated with death.
