Former Alabama defensive lineman returning to SEC
Former Alabama defensive lineman Stephon Wynn is returning to the SEC.
Wynn has committed to Ole Miss, he announced via social media on Thursday. A four-star recruit and top 100 national prospect in Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class, he played last season at Nebraska.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Wynn totaled 22 tackles, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery in 12 games for the Cornhuskers last season. He played in 11 games in four seasons at Alabama, totaling 16 tackles.
A native of Anderson, S.C., who finished high school at Florida’s IMG Academy, Wynn redshirted as a freshman at Alabama and also got an extra year of eligibility for 2020 due to COVID. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Wynn will be reunited at Ole Miss with former Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding, who took the same job with the Rebels in January. Ole Miss visits Tuscaloosa on Sept. 23.
