Shot fired during altercation in Montgomery shopping center parking lot, police say

An investigation is ongoing after an argument outside a Montgomery store led to a shot fired.

Montgomery police responded about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the Shoppes at EastChase on Berryhill Road on a report of a disturbance and shooting in the area.

Major. Saba Coleman said those involved in the disturbance fled before officers got on the scene. There were no injuries or property damage reported, she said.

Coleman said an employee of the unnamed store was involved in an altercation inside which spilled out into the parking lot. Once outside, the altercation continued, and a shot was fired.

Police officials said at no time was there an active shooter.

No arrests have been announced.
