Anniston police are trying to determine the identity of a human skull found Monday afternoon.

According to police, the skull was reported at about 4:45 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Noble Street in an area north of downtown.

Investigators searched the area, but did not discover any other bones. Police did not say if there was any indication as to how long the skull may have been there.
