Mississippi State LB arrested on suspicion of DUI
Mississippi State linebacker Nathaniel Watson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Sunday, according to Oktibbeha County jail records.
Watson, a sixth-year senior from Maplesville, was the SEC’s second-leading tackler last season. No other information regarding Watson’s arrest was immediately available, but Mississippi State head coach Zach Arnett released a brief statement on Monday morning.
“We are aware of the matter and are continuing to gather information,” Arnett said, via the Clarion-Ledger. “We do not have further comment at this time.”
Watson has played in 44 games during his Mississippi State career, starting 24 of 25 games the last two seasons. He totaled 113 tackles in 2022 — second only to teammate Jett Johnson’s 115 — and led the team in tackles for loss (12) and sacks (6).
