Holtville punched the final ticket to next week’s state baseball finals on Saturday, finishing a two-game sweep of Demopolis in Class 5A.

The Bulldogs will play Sardis for the state title Thursday and Friday in the last series of the week.

Holtville (26-13) scored two runs each in the first, second and third innings to take command quickly Saturday. Randall Davis went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Sam Silas was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and and RBI.

Drey Barrett pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out nine.
