Chargers DB ‘excited to pick Mac Jones off’ on Dec. 3

Among the 272 regular-season games on the NFL schedule released on Thursday night is a Dec. 3 contest between the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The game seems to be of particular interest to Chargers cornerback J.C. Jackson, who played for the Patriots in his first four NFL seasons.

“It’s a revenge game for me, man,” Jackson said during an appearance on NFL Network. “I’m excited to go back and pick Mac Jones off and show them why they should have never let me go.”

Jones is New England’s quarterback. The former Alabama All-American’s first season with the Patriots was Jackson’s final one.

Jackson intercepted 25 passes with New England, including nine in 2020 and eight in 2021, when he received Pro Bowl recognition and led the NFL in passes defended with 23.

Last offseason, Jackson left the Patriots as a free agent for a five-year, $82.5 million contract from Los Angeles.

Jackson played in only five games in his first season with the Chargers. After missing two of the first seven games, Jackson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon on Oct. 23 that caused him to miss the remainder of the 2022 season.
