Morgan Wallen out, Kenny Chesney in at Gulf Coast Jam

Morgan Wallen’s touring hiatus left the Gulf Coast Jam with a big hole to fill on short notice, but organizers found just the man for the job: Kenny Chesney.

Organizers of the event, which takes place June 1-4 in Panama City, have announced that Chesney will step into a lineup that includes Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, HARDY and other country acts.

“Our Jammers love Kenny Chesney and have been asking for him to headline for years,” said Gulf Coast Jam Presented by Jim Beam Executive Producer Rendy Lovelady. “We are so thankful his schedule permitted him to step in and entertain our sold-out crowd Saturday night.”

“Anyone who knows anything about the touring business, for an artist the caliber of Kenny Chesney to be open on the exact night we needed him, is truly a blessing,” said Gulf Coast Jam Presented by Jim Beam COO Mark Sheldon. “We will be praying for Morgan and know he will be back out entertaining fans soon.”

Jam organizers described the date as an extension of Chesney’s “I Go Back” tour, which will bring him to The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on May 27. That show appeared to be sold out as of Wednesday, with the only options on Ticketmaster being “verified resale” tickets starting at $244 each.

The Gulf Coast Jam also is sold out. For full information, visit gulfcoastjam.com.

Chesney also has added an appearance at the Carolina Country Music Fest, another event where Wallen was to appear before he announced he was taking a six-week break to save his voice from permanent damage. The Carolina fest is being held June 8-11 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
