Brasfield & Gorrie completes $520 million PGA Texas resort project

Birmingham’s Brasfield & Gorrie has recently completed work on a sprawling, $520 million luxury resort project in Texas.

The Omni PGA Frisco Resort covers 660 acres in Frisco, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

The resort features 500 guest rooms and suites, 13 restaurant and bar concepts, a Mokara Spa, four pools and 10 exclusive four-bedroom ranch houses. It also has retail, entertainment, and nearly 130,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor events space.

Billed as the new home of modern golf, the resort was created in partnership with the PGA of America and is adjacent to its new headquarters.

There are two championship courses designed by architects Gil Hanse and Beau Welling, along with a lighted 10-hole short course and two-acre putting course. There is also The Lounge by Topgolf dining and simulation experience, a state-of-the-art PGA Coaching Center, Ice House restaurant with hitting bays overlooking the Toptracer driving range, and more.

Brasfield & Gorrie was the project’s general contractor.

“Completing this project ahead of schedule was particularly significant because the construction team overcame numerous challenges—including supply chain delays, a difficult labor market and weather delays,” Brasfield & Gorrie Regional Vice President and Division Manager Jason Weeks said. “Omni’s vision and commitment to the project resulted in plenty of demand for the resort, and the construction team embodied the same fighting spirit that Omni exhibited by committing to this project and its timeline during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
