Two students at a Walker County school have been arrested after a gun was found on campus.

The principal at Oakman Middle School on Monday was alerted to a student in possession of a handgun, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.

The principal and school resource officer Deputy Greg Warren were able to locate the gun and those suspected of being in possession of the weapon. Authorities said the school’s video surveillance system assisted in the investigation.

The students are not being named because of their age.

Authorities said there was no evidence of any threats to the school.
