Texas A&M fan asks Jimbo Fisher to kick Nick Saban’s ‘ass’; Here’s his response

A Texas A&M fan lobbed a softball right over the plate to Jimbo Fisher.

The Aggies football coach knocked it out of the park Monday night.

Fisher was in attendance at the Houston A&M Club when it was reported that a fan asked Jimbo Fisher to beat Nick Saban’s ass.

Fisher’s response, per The Houston Chronicle, was short and sweet.

“I’m with you on that,” Fisher said, per Brent Zwerneman. “We should have had them (beat) a year ago, we will … I’m sleeping well right now, I promise you.”

In October, Alabama was plagued by turnovers and other mistakes while being pushed to the brink by the Aggies.

With Bryce Young watching from the sidelines, Jalen Milroe threw for three touchdowns in his first start and No. 1 Alabama made a final goal-line stand to escape with a 24-20 victory over Texas A&M in a battle of backup quarterbacks.

The Crimson Tide needed two late stops from Will Anderson Jr. and the defense. They got them, just barely, to survive four turnovers and two missed field goals against a team that beat the Tide 41-38 the year prior.

Milroe passed for 111 yards and ran for 183, but also threw an interception and lost two fumbles. Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 159 yards.

To say Saban and Fisher have history would be an understatement.

Last May, Saban created a stir during a meeting with local business leaders in Birmingham when he claimed that Texas A&M “bought every player” in its top-ranked recruiting class with name, image and likeness deals.

Fisher held a news conference the following day and called Saban’s comments “despicable,” while also challenging reporters to look into Alabama’s recruiting practices. Fisher also said at the time that he declined to take a call from Saban, saying, “Not going to — we’re done.”

Saban later attempted to clarify his comments, saying his frustrations were with what he called the “unintended consequences” of NIL and that regulation is needed.
