Tennessee murder suspects arrested in Mobile

Two suspects wanted in connection with the March 11 murder of man in Knoxville, Tenn., have been arrested in Mobile, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Ronald Rogers, 26, and Carissa Rogers, 29, both of Knoxville, are charged in the shooting death of Artimeyo Folks, who was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside a North Knoxville apartment complex March 11 and later died at University of Tennessee Medical Center, according to WVLT in Knoxville.

Monday morning, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said an anonymous tip led deputies to a residence off Bennett Road. When they arrived, deputies saw the suspects leaving the scene in a vehicle.

A traffic stop was initiated on Grand Bay Wilmer Road. Once the identity of the two suspects was confirmed, they were taken into custody and transported to the Mobile Metro Jail, where they are held without bond pending an extradition hearing.

Knoxville police detectives are en route to interview the two suspects. Ronald Rogers is charged with second-degree murder, while Carissa Rogers is charged as an accessory, according to WVLT.
