The city of Mobile is set to host the second-annual Mobtoberfest Fall Festival on Oct. 29, just two days before Halloween. The event will be held all day in Medal of Honor Park, and the city promises for there to be lots of spooky fun, including live music, a costume contest and a 5K.

The festivities begin in the morning with a 5K. Appropriately titled “Run For Your Life,” the race will be zombie-themed and the city is encouraging people to dress up. There will also be a one-mile fun run afterward. The 5K kicks off at 9 a.m.

Later in the day, there will be a costume contest—including a contest for pets. Awards will be given for most creative, most original, best group, funniest and scariest costume. After the costume contest, there will be a performance by Wetumpka group Lisa Perkins & the E-Lusion Band, from 6-9 p.m.

In the afternoon, there will be other activities, the city says, including bounce houses, a live DJ and characters. Attendees will also be able to trick-or-treat throughout the festival.

Last year’s Mobtoberfest was attended by thousands of Mobilians, the city says. With pandemic concerns continuing to ease, that number may be even higher this year.
