Chris Marshall, Texas A&M transfer, dismissed by Ole Miss

Ole Miss has dismissed wide receiver Chris Marshall from the team, head coach Lane Kiffin announced Saturday.

Marshall transferred to Ole Miss in December from Texas A&M, where he was a 5-star recruit in the 2022 signing class. The Missouri City, Texas, native played in six games as a true freshman for the Aggies, catching 11 passes for 108 yards.

However, Marshall was suspended twice for team rules violations during his freshman year at Texas A&M. A short statement released to the media by Kiffin on Saturday indicated he’d gotten into trouble again.

“Chris Marshall has been dismissed from the Ole Miss football program for violation of team rules,” Kiffin said. “We wish him good luck in his future plans.”

Marshall was expected to be an immediate starter in 2023 for the Rebels, who top receivers Jonathan Mingo and Malik Heath off last year’s team. Marshall caught four passes for 89 yards in the Grove Bowl spring game last month.

Ole Miss opens the 2023 season at home vs. Mercer.
