Four charged after drugs, guns found in raid on Pensacola house

Four people are facing a slew of drug and weapons charges after a massive raid on a house in Pensacola Thursday.

The Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office said a search warrant was executed at a house on New York Drive after an extensive investigation by the Gun Crimes Unit.

Inside the home, deputies found 21 people. With a number of them attempting to flee the scene, deputies — aided by SWAT and K-9 units — managed to detain all of them.

But that was just the beginning, as officers searched the home, they found the following:

  • Seven firearms, one of which was stolen
  • 241.1 grams of cocaine
  • 41.1 grams of fentanyl
  • 275 oxycodone pills
  • 2.9 grams of methamphetamine
  • 1,960 grams of marijuana
  • $12,925 in U.S. currency

A vehicle was also seized during the raid.

Of the 21 persons found inside the home, four have been initially charged:

  • Diontress Kadeem Leverette, 31: trafficking in cocaine; trafficking in fentanyl; trafficking in oxycodone; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; possession of drug paraphernalia; three counts of battery; obstruction of justice; resisting arrest. Total bond for all charges set at $352,000.
  • Darrell Anthony Diggs, 39: Trafficking in cocaine. Total bond: $50,000.
  • Cora Jackson Brown, 41: Trafficking in fentanyl; possession of cocaine; possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams). Total bond: $30,500.
  • Valente Rodriguez McDougal, 28: Was charged in December with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams). Was free on $3,000 bond, but has now had his bond revoked.

All four suspects remained in the Escambia County Jail as of Friday afternoon. In addition, all four have extensive criminal histories, according to Escambia County Jail records, including multiple prior felony arrests for drug possession/distribution.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending.
