48-year-old man charged with sex abuse of young girl in Tuscaloosa
A 48-year-old man is under arrest in Tuscaloosa on several child sex abuse charges.
Scottie Taylor is charged with two counts of first-degree rape, one count of sex abuse of a child under the age of 12 and one count of first-degree sex abuse.
Tuscaloosa police in April received a delayed report of a sexual assault that happened years ago.
According to charging documents against Taylor, a 14-year-old girl told investigators that the suspect started touching her inappropriately when she was 7 or 8 years old. She said he had sexual intercourse with her when she was 12.
Taylor was interviewed by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and admitted to the abuse, a deposition states.
Taylor was taken into custody Thursday and remains held without bond.
Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy asked anyone else who may have been victim to call authorities at 205-464-8690.
