Burger King to close up to 400 locations this year
Fast food chain Burger King is planning on closing hundreds of restaurants by the end of the year.
Restaurant Brands International Inc., owner of Burger King, confirmed to Today.com the company will close between 300 and 400 locations. According to a release from RBI, 124 Burger Kings have closed already this year, bringing the total number in the U.S. to around 7,000.

According to Today, CEO Joshua Kobza said the company plans to focus on working with smaller franchisees, allowing only high-quality operators to build or acquire existing restaurants who will operate regionally and under local ownership.
Neither a timeline nor exact locations to be closed was announced.
