Former 5-star Alabama basketball transfer commits to Arizona

After nearly a month in the transfer portal, Jaden Bradley has found a new home. The five-star transfer announced his transfer to Arizona on Wednesday.

“Arizona recruited me the first time around. I am familiar with their staff and fast pace style of play. They run, they guard and move the ball. Coach Lloyd is an upbeat and energetic guy who is heavy on player development. He is on the court with his guys outside of practice,” Bradley told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

Bradley, a native of Rochester, New York, played high school in IMG (Fla.) Academy. He was a five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American. He scored 6.4 points per game while averaging 19.8 minutes in 37 games. He was named to the All-SEC freshman first-team.

Bradley started the season in the rotation, played his way into the starting lineup and mostly sat the bench as the Crimson Tide made a run to the Sweet 16. Bradley, Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney and Rylan Griffen were arguably the most accomplished freshman class in program history. Griffen is the lone player remaining in that group.

Bradley and Miller were also part of the controversy surrounding the team with the murder of Jamea Harris. Both players were present when former teammate Darius Miles handed the murder weapon to his childhood friend. Bradley, like most Tide players, declined to address the situation during the postseason.

Alabama signed Hofstra guard Aaron Estrada to help replace Bradley, and potentially Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly in its guard rotation. Another potential option, Wichita State transfer Jaykwon Walton, had been committed to Alabama but was arrested last month.

The Wildcats went 28-7 in 2022 and lost to 15-seed Princeton in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide will travel to Phoenix and play the Wildcats on Dec. 20 in the Footprint Center.
