Alabama’s series win over LSU featured one of the program’s greatest-ever pitchers having another record-setting weekend.

Montana Fouts was named the Southeastern Conference’s Co-Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday following two complete-game shutouts. It was the fourth time this season Fouts has won the weekly award, tying a program record set by Stephanie VanBrankle in 2006 and by Fouts herself in 2021.

Fouts allowed just seven hits across 14 innings against the Tigers, all of which were singles. Fouts also struck out 15 batters to give her 277 punch outs and a 1.43 ERA as a fifth-year senior. Alabama improved to 36-16 overall and 12-9 in the conference with a 2-0 and 4-0 win.

Fouts split the honor with Auburn junior Maddie Penta. Fouts is 10th in Alabama’s record books for single-season strikeouts and single-season shutouts (nine). In her latest season, Fouts has allowed a career-low .162 opponent batting average while appearing in 35 games, 25 of which have been won by Alabama.
