A Limestone County jury this afternoon found a teenager guilty of the 2019 killing of five of his family members.

Mason Sisk, 17, was found guilty of four counts of capital murder after the jury deliberated for not quite two hours.

Sentencing is set for July 25, according to WHNT. Sisk faces life in prison since he was a teenager when the murders took place.

The jury heard closing arguments earlier this morning after Sisk’s defense rested on Wednesday without calling witnesses. On Tuesday, jurors saw a video where Sisk admitting killing his family members because he said he was “fed up of all the fighting.”

Sisk had been charged with killing five family members while they slept when he was 14 years old on Sept. 2, 2019. The shootings occurred in Elkmont, a small town near the Tennessee state line.

Limestone County Circuit Judge Chad Wise ordered a mistrial last year after a large amount of information from the cellphone of Mary Sisk became available to both parties during the trial. Mary Sisk, 35, was Mason Sisk’s adoptive mother and one of the five people he is accused of killing.

Mason Sisk was also accused of fatally shooting his father John Sisk, 38, and siblings Kane, 6, Rorrie, 4, and Colson, 6 months.
