Flamethrower, assault rifles, drugs seized in Birmingham raid

A raid at an east Birmingham home turned up a cache of weapons including a flamethrower, as well as drugs.

The Birmingham Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit launched an investigation after receiving complaints of drug activity at a residence, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. That investigation led to a raid at a home in the 4000 block of Danbury Circle.

The search turned up six assault rifles, six handguns, four rifles, two shotguns and one suppressor, as well as the flamethrower.

Detectives also recovered 2,048 Xanax pills, 4.3 grams of THC Chocolate, 91 grams of THC Cartridges, 98 grams of Mushroom Chocolate Bars, 296 grams of THC Wax, 2000 mg of Testosterone Cypionate, 1000 mg of Trenbolone Acetate (an anabolic steroid), 50 ml of Hydrocodone, and 3,180 grams of Marijuana.

Weston Stidham, 36, is charged with drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Jefferson County Jail records show was booked into the lockup at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday and released at 8:55 p.m. after posting $15,000 bond.

Fitzgerald said more arrests could follow.
