A Jasper man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Walker County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Jason D. Pate. He was 46.

The wreck happened at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday on Lamon Chapel Road near Clearview Drive, about 13 miles north of Jasper.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said Pate was driving a Ford F-800 that left the roadway and overturned. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Passenger Brian L. Masterson, 50, was airlifted to UAB Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
