Watch Nick Saban throw out first pitch at Alabama baseball game

While most were talking quarterbacks and watching the transfer portal, Nick Saban took the mound.

The Alabama football coach threw out the first pitch ahead of the Crimson Tide’s mid-week game Tuesday when it hosts Samford.

As you can see, Saban didn’t exactly throw from the mound, but he certainly wouldn’t be in violation of MLB’s pitch-clock rules as he let it fly quick and efficiently. He might have even gotten the corner of the plate with his pitch. He then shook hands with each member of the team.

Meanwhile, Alabama used a five-run eighth to put the game out of reach in a 13-6 win. The Crimson Tide is now 30-12 on the season.

The Tide got a run in the fourth and two in the fifth before scoring four runs in the sixth. The Bulldogs made it a game before the Tide’s five-run eighth blew it open.

It was the 18th time this season the Tide scored double-digit runs. Colby Shelton, Tommy Seidl and Ed Johnson all homered in the game.

Aidan Moza (1-1) earned the win in relief, while Samford reliever Turner Thompson (1-1) was tagged with the loss.
