Abby Grossberg’s lawyer: Tucker Carlson ousted for ‘lying, bullying and conspiracy mongering’

Former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg has accused former Fox News host Tucker Carlson of overseeing a hostile work environment, where antisemitic banter and chauvinism were commonplace.

Fox News announced Monday morning it would part ways with Carlson — a network star who drew solid ratings while promoting incendiary and often misleading rhetoric. Grossberg filed a lawsuit against Fox News last month shortly before being cut loose by the right-wing cable operation.

According to the New York Times, her suit claims the 53-year-old host lorded over an operation where doctored images of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wearing a plunging swimsuit greeted the producer on her first day working for Carlson. Grossberg previously worked for Fox News personality Maria Bartiromo. She was also allegedly asked if Bartiromo was having sex with a prominent Republican lawmaker.

Fox News told the Times it would vigorously challenge Grossberg’s “unmeritorious legal claims,” which the network called “riddled with false allegations.”

Last week, the right-wing cable station settled a $787.5 million defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems after hosts including Bartiromo “endorsed” false claims that election equipment used in the 2020 presidential election was compromised. Voting technologies company Smartmatic is suing Fox News over similar allegations.

Grossberg’s suit against Carlson also names Fox News, its parent company and several individuals, according to the Times’ report. An attorney for Grossberg reportedly said Carlson’s departure from Fox News was “in part, an admission of the systemic lying, bullying and conspiracy mongering claimed by our client.”

Carlson’s seemingly sudden exit was cheered by the hosts of ABC morning program “The View,” where the studio audience sang the 1969 Steam tune “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”

Conservative figures including former Fox News host Megyn Kelly tweeted support for the former “Tucker Carlson Tonight” ringleader.

Fox News’ sordid history of chauvinism was dramatized for the big screen in the 2019 film “Bombshell,” where Kelly is played by Academy Award winner Charlize Theron.
