Alabama beach town makes another ‘best of’ list

Alabama beach town makes another ‘best of’ list

One of Alabama’s favorite beach towns has once again been chosen as one of the best in the country.

Trips to Discover, a digital travel magazine that claims a monthly readership of more than 1.6 million people, included Orange Beach in a feature on the “16 Best Small Beach Towns in the U.S. for Summer.”

Orange Beach is the only spot on the central Gulf Coast to make the list, and one of only two on the Gulf Coast. Anna Maria Island, Fla., south of Tampa, was the other.

The site’s take on Orange Beach highlights its “picture-perfect sand that sparkles in the sun while the water is a brilliant blue creating a stunning contrast.” Beyond that, it singled out Dolphin Cruises aboard the Cold Mil Fleet and shopping at The Wharf, along with more general references to golf courses and the area’s network of hiking and biking trails.
