What are the most popular baby names in Alabama?

We now know the answer.

Names.org released today its list of the most popular baby names in Alabama based on Social Security Administration data on births and user interest on its website.

For boys in Alabama, William ranked as the top name, followed by John and James. Seven of Alabama’s top 10 boy names are also on the national top 10 list with three unique ones to the state – John, Asher and Grayson, replacing the national contenders Lucas, Benjamin and Theodore.

10 Most Popular Names for Boys in Alabama in 2023:

For girls, Olivia, Charlotte, and Amelia top Alabama’s list.  Paisley is a new name in the top 10 this year.

Six of Alabama’s top 10 girl’s names are also on the national top 10 list. The four names unique to Alabama are Harper, Elizabeth, Mary, and Paisley.  They are replaced on the national list by Sophie, Mia, Isabella and Luna.
