Charles Barkley, Gayle King announce new CNN show ‘King Charles’
Charles Barkley and Gayle King announced Saturday their new show together, “King Charles.”
Barkley and King broke the news on the “NBA Tip-Off” show prior to the Game 4 of the Eastern Conference playoff series between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
King joined the “Inside the NBA” crew of Barkley, Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal to make the announcement.
The show will debut in the fall and run through 2024.
“What I think is so great for the both of us is that it’s live TV. To me, live TV is like working without a net. So whatever happens, happens. I like that,” King said.
King said that she “wasn’t looking for another job,” as she remains under contract for CBS Mornings, and Barkley will continue in his current role as well.
Barkley said that he also didn’t “want to be on TV more,” but agreed to it when offered the opportunity to team with King.
