Ja Morant out for Game 2: Lakers-Grizzlies live stream, how to watch online, TV time

The Memphis Grizzlies take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their NBA playoff series on Wednesday, April 19, and the game will be live streamed on Sling, which offers half off the first month, and on DirecTV Stream (free trial).

The big question, though, is the availability of star Ja Morant. The Grizzlies ruled him questionable for Game 2, according to the official injury report on Wednesday. Coach Taylor Jenkins said Morant’s status will be a game-time decision.

However, 60 minutes before game time, the Grizzlies announced Morant is out for Wednesday night’s game.

The NBA’s injury report calls Morant’s injury as “right hand soreness.”

Jenkins said 90 minutes prior to Game 2 tipoff Wednesday Morant is “steadily improving” and is still a game-time decision.

Morant had an MRI on Monday that showed only bruising of the tissue between the bones as the fourth-year guard aggravated an injury from April 7 when Memphis clinched the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference during a win at Milwaukee.

The Grizzlies do have some backup insurance. Memphis signed veteran Tyus Jones to a two-year, $29 million fully guaranteed extension last summer for insurance and to give Jenkins the chance to put both Morant and Jones on the court together at times.

When is Grizzlies-Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies play at 6:30 p.m. (7 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, April 19.
