A 23-year-old Decatur woman has been charged with torture and willful abuse of a child after being reported by a school employee.

Decatur police said Milaya Orr, 23, is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $15,000 bond.

On Monday, a Decatur school employee notified a school resource officer that a child had visible bruises and abusive markings consistent with physical abuse, according to police.

Decatur police family services detectives and Morgan County Department of Human Resources caseworkers began an investigation, resulting in Orr’s arrest.

Police are continuing the investigation.
