2 charged with capital murder in Bessemer shooting death during robbery attempt

Two suspects have been charged in the shooting death of a man at a Bessemer convenience store last week.

Michael Hill and Corey Little, both 21, are charged with capital murder, attempted murder and robbery. They are charged in the April 11 slaying of 20-year-old Tyler D’King Andrews.

The shooting happened at 8:43 p.m. that Tuesday at Bessemer Market in the 2900 block of Dartmouth Avenue. Andrews was rushed to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 20-year-old was shot to death April 11, 2023 in the 2900 block of Dartmouth Avenue in Bessemer.

Detectives determined that Hill, Little and Andrews were together that night. There was an attempt to rob another man of his car, and Andrews was shot in the process.

The intended robbery victim was not injured.

Hill surrendered to police on Saturday. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Sunday where he is being held without bond.

Little surrendered to police on Sunday. He is awaiting transfer from the Bessemer City Jail to the Jefferson County Jail, where he also will be held without bond.
