Patrick Surtain II, Quinnen Williams team up on water

Teammates at Alabama in the 2018 season, Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II and New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams were on the same side again with the AFC for this season’s Pro Bowl Games.

On Saturday, the two former Crimson Tide All-Americans will be teammates once more when they compete in Sport Fishing Championship’s “The Catch” tournament.

Surtain and Williams enter the SFC exhibition as Team Rising Sons, which will have Jaselyn Berthelot as the captain/angler for their boat. Berthelot is an LSU student who won the fan vote for the 2022 SFC Angler of the Year Award.

The tournament will be televised at noon CDT Saturday by CBS. Scored under a catch-and-release format, the tournament will be conducted out of Miami Beach, Florida.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, a former West Alabama standout, is among the seven other NFL players participating in the tournament.

Hill will join Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Deandre Hopkins on Team Polarizer with captain Bill Davis and angler George Robinson.

Also on the water will be Team Quantified with Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones and Team Gypsea with Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook and New England Patriots outside linebacker Matthew Judon.
