One person was killed this morning when a train collided with an 18-wheeler near Tuscumbia.

Colbert County Coroner Justin Gasque said the incident happened at about 10:20 a.m.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the incident.

The crash happened at a rail crossing just off U.S. 72 at Golden Road and Old Memphis Pike, just west of Tuscumbia, Gasque said.

A collided with a truck making a turn along the railroad tracks.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
