Birmingham’s Wyndy expands in Tennessee market, looks to hire 200

Birmingham sitter app Wyndy is pushing into new areas of Tennessee, offering its services in Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Created in 2017 by parents Ginger and Tommy Mayfield, Wyndy is a mobile app helping families find, book, and pay vetted, background-checked college babysitters. Earlier this year, the company expanded into Huntsville and Mobile.

Wyndy currently offers its services in Memphis, as well as cities in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, the Carolinas and Virginia.

Wyndy CEO Missy Polhemus said the company is looking to add 200 sitters in Chattanooga and Knoxville.

“On average, our sitters earn over $16 per hour and have complete flexibility to work as little or as much as they would like,” Polhemus said. “We hear from our Wyndys that the money they earn helps support them through college, allowing them to pay off student debts and save money for their future.”

New Wyndy parents can visit the website to receive a $25 credit. Interested students who would like to apply to become a Wyndy can do so here.
