There are two new teams at No. 1 in this week’s ASWA high school softball rankings.

Class 7A Hewitt-Trussville and Class 5A Brewbaker Tech each took over the top spot.

Hewitt-Trussville won eight straight games last week to capture the Gulf Coast Classic III title while Brewbaker Tech moved ahead of previous top-ranked Springville, which is No. 2.

The rest of the No. 1 teams remained the same with Class 6A Wetumpka, Class 4A Curry, Class 3A Plainview, Class 2A Wicksburg, Class 1A Skyline and AISA Macon East still atop the rankings.

Class 6A top-ranked Wetumpka (36-1) is the only state team among the MaxPreps national Top 25, still ranked No. 16.

Class 3A top-ranked Plainview (20-0) continues to be the only undefeated team among the rankings.
