A Tuscaloosa man died after falling off the motorcycle he was riding Tuesday afternoon, authorities said Wednesday.

Darterrius D. Washington, 23, was injured when he fell off the 2009 Suzuki Gladius he was operating on Crescent Ridge Road near Tuscaloosa around 3:37 p.m. Tuesday, said Cpl. Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

After Washington fell off the motorcycle, King said, the vehicle continued forward and struck a car.

Washington was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, where he died of his injuries.

Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate.
