An early-morning crash in northern Jefferson County left one man dead.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched just before 7 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a crashed pickup truck on Barber Road near Church Street.

They arrived to find the adult male driver unresponsive in the cab of the truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said the fatal crash is being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
